I have always wanted to do a blog post on this interesting project that I am currently working on. It is called MiFos - MicoFinance Open Source.
The basic idea of this project is to create a Management Information system for Micro finance institutions to help them in
- Client Management
- Creating and managing micro loan products
- Automated tracking of all payments
- Creating and managing savings products
- Insurance products
- Surveys to judge poverty status of clients
This is being primarily driven the Grameen Foundation Technology center. For more details, check out www.mifos.org.
