Came across this really interesting site which is a search engine that grabs results from Google, Yahoo, and MSN. It also allows you to develop your own widgets and algorithms based on your searches. You can put weight into domain age, Alexa rank, del.icio.us links, and even determine whether or not it will hit the Digg front page.

So is just another Web 2.0 site? Underrated?

I have always wanted to do a blog post on this interesting project that I am currently working on. It is called MiFos - MicoFinance Open Source.

The basic idea of this project is to create a Management Information system for Micro finance institutions to help them in

  • Client Management
  • Creating and managing micro loan products
  • Automated tracking of all payments
  • Creating and managing savings products
  • Insurance products
  • Surveys to judge poverty status of clients

This is being primarily driven the Grameen Foundation Technology center. For more details, check out www.mifos.org.

You can also be a part of this project, as we actively foster volunteer engagements.

Well, had to fight over a lot of inertia to kick start this blog. It’s been ages since I have blogged, was on the blogshpere when it just started out and when people were using it as a “My Diary” tool. I have also wanted to start a blog to share my interests in the technology world and I guess it’s better late than never. I promise to keep posting frequently, but one thing is not do not expect a lot of hard core code here. I am looking at making this blog as a forum for discussing things around

  • Discussing new technologies
  • Share some interesting sites which I come across
  • Creating better user experiences/interfaces
  • Program Management - Requirements analysis, user scenarios, personnae etc.
